To try to catch up, the Cupertino company is reportedly working on its own AI technology with the aim of adding it to the next generation of iPhone and other products.
Expected announcements at WWDC could include AI-based assistance for services like Apple Music and a major, much-needed overhaul of Siri.
External partners?
But Apple may also have sought external partners for additional help. For example by partnering with Google to bring AI features powered by Gemini to the iPhone.
Recently, the company also purchased DarwinAI. The Canadian startup is working to make AI systems smaller and more efficient.
