Apple has just unveiled the dates for its major developer show, which will once again be virtual in 2022. Future iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS should be unveiled there, as well as possible new products.
Apple’s big developer show, which takes place every spring, will take place from June 6 to 10. As in the two previous editions, Apple has decided to give up the organization of a face-to-face event due to the Covid-19 pandemic. WWDC22 will be entirely virtual with, on June 6, an inauguration keynote probably dedicated to future updates to iOS 16, macOS 13, tvOS 16 and watchOS 9.
An important edition of WWDC?
Although the show will remain virtual in 2022 (in addition to the conference, there will be hundreds of sessions to familiarize developers with new functions), Apple is taking a first step towards a return to normal by inviting a few developers and students to its campus on June 6, for a special broadcast of the keynote and the more technical “State of the Union” event, which generally communicates on novelties less likely to appeal to the general public. The other sessions will be virtual.
In addition to updates to iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, some rumors say that Apple will take advantage of its conference to unveil the M2 chip dedicated to Macs. We have also long talked about the presentation of the brand’s mixed reality headset, but the probability of discovering it on June 6 remains very low.
