ArcelorMittal has visitors in Dunkirk!

(Boursier.com) – Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate for Industry, will visit the site ofArcelorMittal in Dunkirk, to recall the State’s support for the company’s decarbonization plan. The Minister will visit the facilities subject to decarbonization investments, as well as the “3D” demonstrator for capturing CO2 in industrial fumes carried by IFPEN. The winners of the AAP “low-carbon industrial zones” will be announced.

The Minister will then go to Pas-de-Calais, to Réty, to the Chaux et Dolomies site (Lhoist group), the French leader in lime, which is taking part in the same decarbonization process.

The establishment of “low-carbon industrial zones” is part of a dual objective of green reindustrialization and acceleration of the decarbonization of industry. It aims to offer “turnkey” territories for the establishment of new low-carbon industries in order to strengthen the attractiveness of the country. It will make it possible to deploy, by the end of the five-year period, in the selected industrial zones, all the infrastructures necessary for the ecological transition of industry: hydrogen production, carbon capture facilities and transport to underground sequestration boreholes , reinforcement of electrical networks, installation of heating networks.

Businesses ArcelorMittal and Chaux et Dolomies (Lhoist group) are engaged in this key project for the industrial future of the territory, with total investments planned at nearly 2 billion euros to set up low-carbon production processes, based on new technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture…
