Previously named archewell.com, it is now called sussex.com, in reference to their royal titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex. If this change has created controversy in England, where many think that it is a “betrayal of their agreement with the late Queen Elizabeth II” as written in particular by Daily Mail, another revelation that occurred three days later also surprised fans and detractors of the couple. Indeed, in an article published Thursday February 15, 2024, the Times British states that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have chosen to change their children’s last names. So far named Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, according to the surnames of Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, the couple’s son and daughter – aged four and two – would henceforth be called Sussex.
According to a source close to the family, they would call themselves that “since the coronation” of Charles III, celebrated on May 6, 2023. “The reality behind the new site is very simple: it brings together the work of the Sussexes and for the first time, the name of the site reflects the fact that the family has shared the same name since the king’s coronation. This is important for any family.
