Architecture – In Dallas, a trip to Armenia

To Carrollton, under the Texan sun, the Armenian church of Saint Sarkis welcomed its first faithful on April 24. The singularity of its borderless architecture, a marvelous osmosis between past and present? Forms inherited directly from Saint Hripsime, an Orthodox Christian church in Yerevan, the modern capital of Armenia, but also the use of a state-of-the-art digital technological innovation: a traditional Armenian cross, a “tree of life” whose geometric and botanical patterns come from 1.5 million pixels, generated by a computer script so that each tiny icon is unique.
