Attention ARD viewers: Due to persistently low ratings, the “Family Cooking Duel” by and with Steffen Henssler will be removed from the program with immediate effect. You can read here which replacement the first offers.
With an average of 0.34 million viewers over the age of three and market shares of 4.1 and 3.6 percent respectively, the following can be said after eight weeks: the Steffen Henssler show “Family Cooking Duel” is a flop. Those responsible for programming at ARD also came to this conclusion and used the Easter break to remove the daily cooking show from the program. Halfway through the broadcast, Das Erste had already decided to take the program out of the afternoon program and to broadcast it in the morning program from the end of March. Now it’s finally over.
As of today, April 19, the free slot will be taken over by the quiz show “Master of Everyday Life”which in the previous weeks always following “Live After Nine” had been sent and is therefore pushed back by almost an hour. Previously, the program with “Crazy About the Sea” filled. A similar procedure was followed with the afternoon changeover of the “Family Cooking Duel”. At that time, too, the documentary series took over the 4:10 p.m. slot. However, Das Erste does not present new episodes. The production of “Crazy for the Sea” was discontinued at the end of 2021.
ARD-Flop is the second Henssler show that disappoints in terms of ratings
For Steffen Henssler, this is the second daytime cooking show that fails due to poor ratings. Two years ago, RTL broadcast in the late afternoon program “Henssler Countdown – Cooking at the Limit”. At that time, the show lasted eight months before it was canceled in October.
Now, after two months, Henssler and the television production are over. It remains to be seen whether this will affect another, very similar format from the TV makers. RTL is currently at 11:00 a.m “Chef TV” in program. The show, moderated by Alexander Herrmann, has also had a hard time on the quota market since it started.
