With property rates soaring, obtaining a loan to finance a property purchase is becoming increasingly difficult, particularly for self-employed workers. Are you self-employed and your bank has refused you a loan? Tell us!
In recent months, conditions of access to credit have tightened. Rates have almost quadrupled, and most banks now charge higher rates 4% over 20 years and almost 4.5% over 25 years, a level not seen in 10 years.
The rise in rates impacts all borrowers. However, certain socio-professional categories, such as self-employed workers, encounter particular difficulties when trying to obtain a property loan.
The specter of financial exclusion
According to a recent survey by fintech Rollee, no less than 60% self-employed workers questioned were reportedly refused credit. And this, even though the latter had stable income and a solid borrower profile.
Result? Near 80% self-employed workers believe that they do not have the same conditions of access to credit as employees. And 23% of them are considering abandoning their activity in favor of employment in order to obtain a loan.
Are you self-employed, freelance or self-employed, and have you encountered difficulties obtaining financing from your bank? In this case, we are interested in your testimony!
Self-employed: out of 1000 euros collected in your professional account, how much do you earn (really)?
Tell us about your experience!
Has your loan request been refused by one or more establishments? Did the bank justify its refusal? If yes, what was the reason given by your banker? Does the latter seem justified to you?
Were you forced to modify your project (more contribution, longer borrowing period) to obtain your loan? Have you decided to reconsider your purchase (reduction in surface area, geographical distance, etc.) or to put it on hold?
Tell us about your experience in comments or by email to the following address: [email protected]. Your contribution will serve as a basis for writing an article on the conditions of access to credit for self-employed workers. Thank you for your participation!
