Once reserved for a minority of investors with deep pockets and graying temples, the financial markets are now attracting investors under 35 years of age. To decipher the expectations and behaviors of this new generation of investors, MoneyVox is launching a call for testimonials.

The median age of new stock market investors rose from 58 in 2020 to 46 in 2019, i.e. 12 years younger, observes the Financial Markets Authority (AMF) in its latest report. The proportion of under 35s among the holders of direct shares increased by 11% 18% within a year. A rejuvenation significantnotes the AMF.

The fall of the markets in March 2020 constituted a ideal entry point for these new investors. But for many observers, the arrival of young people on the market was only a trend. A way to kill time during confinement.

The stock market today seems to be an obvious choice for a large number of young investors. According to a recent study by the no-broker Trade Republic, 47% of 18-35 year olds have already made one or more financial investments. And 27% of young respondents intend to buy shares in companies.
