This Friday, April 8, France 2 broadcasts a new episode of Captain Marleau. For the occasion, many celebrities will appear in the series directed by Josée Dayan. Among them, Christophe Dechavanne, Laura Smet or Ariane Massenet. But besides, what becomes of the former host?
For many years, she was the great accomplice of Marc-Olivier Fogiel. With his contagious good humor, Ariane Massenet has established herself as one of the best-known faces of French television. From 2000 to 2004, she co-presented You can’t please everyone on France 3. Then, from 2005, she joined the team of chroniclers of Michel Denisot in The Big Newspaper on Canal+
But after replacing Maïtena Biraben in Morning for a year, then hosting the show Does it work ? sur C8 with Camille Combal until June 2014, Ariane Massenet said stop. The journalist then decided to move away from the media to devote himself essentially to the theater. She will still have made a few appearances in 2019 on the show Good evening ! On Canal+. But with our colleagues from Non Stop People in October 2019, she had explained why she did not want to return to television.
Ariane Massenet: “I wanted to live a new adventure”
“I lived extremely strong adventures (…) Today, one did not propose to me something which carries me as much as that. I wanted to live a new adventure with the theater”, explained the host. During the winter of 2019-2020 Ariane Massenet was featured in the play like sisters, written and directed by his own sister, Béatrice Massenet. A play that the actress has been replaying since the beginning of the year 2022, and in which she seems to blossom completely. “I feel so good on stage. I feel like I belong perfectly. The theater was a revelation. I absolutely want to continue on this path.”, she assured in Ouest France on February 25. And viewers will also have the chance to discover Ariane Massenet on their screen this Friday, April 8. The former host is indeed part of the cast of the new episode of the series Captain Marleaubroadcast on France 2, and in which she plays a somewhat invasive psychologist.
