Expected early next month on PC VR, Meta Quest And PlayStation VR 2, Arizona Sunshine 2 was treated to a new video of gameplay recently, on the occasion of a showcase Or Vertigo Games also revealed several details about its zombie shooter.
Arizona Sunshine 2 will include a solo or two-player cooperative campaign, a cooperative mode cross-platform and a mode Horde with four players, the developers sum it all up:
Arizona Sunshine 2 will feature cross-platform multiplayer, a two-player co-op campaign, an Endless Horde mode playable for up to four players, and more. Arizona Sunshine 2’s co-op mode builds on the foundations of the original game by adding a multitude of VR interactions and mechanics. More than ever, players will be able to enjoy freestyle co-op gameplay.
Post-launch support plans were also announced today. They include three additional maps for Horde mode, which will be released in the first year. More details will be revealed later.
A Quest 3 update was also revealed for Arizona Sunshine 2, allowing players to enjoy higher resolution from day one. The Quest 3 post-launch update scheduled for the end of December will notably introduce dynamic shadow effects on moving objects.
During the showcase, Arizona Sunshine 2 Game Director Peter Deurloo presented a brand new single-player campaign, including new sequences and gameplay elements. This includes hints at the separate story of Rob Yescombe (The Invisible Hours, Farpoint), your new canine friend Buddy, and next-gen mechanics, such as manual reloading and melee combat.
A series of VR content creators have teamed up to launch a co-op campaign in Arizona Sunshine 2. Learn about their experience in the game’s co-op mode, along with their new friend, Buddy. The showcase today welcomed a very special guest: the main voice actor of Arizona Sunshine 2, Sky Soleil. In a chat with the development team, Sky talked about his return as the fun-loving and mischievous protagonist of Arizona Sunshine 2. Add in a freestyle voice-over session and it becomes clear that Sky’s talent is a essential element of the narrative of Arizona Sunshine 2.
