Arnold Schwarzenegger experienced an unpleasant stop in Munich. Customs at the airport didn’t let it run again for around three hours.

Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger (76) is currently no longer being held by customs at Munich Airport. As the “Bild” newspaper reported, upon his arrival the officers initially searched the “Terminator’s” luggage, regardless of suspicion, and found an expensive luxury watch there. Three hours after landing from Los Angeles, at 4:45 p.m., Schwarzenegger was finally allowed to enter the country. The first thing he did was light a cigar in the car. According to the report, the actor has already contacted his lawyers.

“That is the problem that Germany is suffering from. You can no longer see the forest for the trees,” Schwarzenegger told the “Bild” newspaper. He explained to the officials that the watch was to be auctioned off for a good cause and that it was a charity project. But that was of no use. Thomas Meister (55), spokesman for the main customs office in Munich, confirmed the measures: “We have initiated criminal tax proceedings.” Schwarzenegger would have had to register the watch because it was an import.

US media are also already reporting on the incident in Munich

As reported by US media, among others, Schwarzenegger wanted to pay the tax value and the fine on site so that he could bring the watch to Austria. Apparently Schwarzenegger wanted to pay the amount immediately by credit card, but he was not allowed to do so in full. Officials accompanied him to a bank to withdraw money because he logically did not have enough cash when he entered the country.

Schwarzenegger wanted to auction off the watch from the Swiss luxury manufacturer Audemars Piguet, a unique piece made for him, at a celebrity event tomorrow, Thursday, in the Stanglwirt. The proceeds will go to his climate initiative. Stars like The BossHoss, Felix Neureuther (39), Ralf Moeller (65), Mark Keller (58) and Barbara Meier (37) had also announced themselves for the charity event.
