Arnold Schwarzenegger becomes a grandfather for the second time. At Jimmy Kimmel, he raves about granddaughter Lyla and son-in-law Chris Pratt.
Arnold Schwarzenegger (74) has been a grandfather since summer 2020. His daughter Katherine (32) gave birth to their first child together with actor Chris Pratt (42). And soon he will be grandpa again, as he confirmed in an interview with US moderator Jimmy Kimmel (54). “That’s right”, the megastar was happy when he appeared on the US late-night format “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. US media had already reported in December, citing insider sources, that the couple was expecting another child.
It’s “the easiest thing in the world to be a grandfather,” explains Schwarzenegger. When his daughter and son-in-law came to visit him with his granddaughter, he would play with little Lyla for an hour or two, let her play with his animals “and after two hours, they leave,” Schwarzenegger jokes. “It’s awesome.” He has “a great time” when the family comes to visit him.
Apparently, Schwarzenegger doesn’t just love spending time with his granddaughter. He also describes his son-in-law as a “fantastic guy”. And of course he was also very proud of his “wonderful” daughter Katherine. When the little family drop by, they light up the whole house.

Schwarzenegger goes on to say that he doesn’t yet know whether his daughter is expecting a girl or a son. It could well be that the couple didn’t inform him about this so that he wouldn’t accidentally blurt it out. However, the 74-year-old bet that the two do not know it themselves. Because Katherine is very similar to her mother Maria Shriver (66) – and she never wanted to know before the birth.
According to media reports, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver finally divorced last December. They married in 1986. Together they have four children: Katherine, Christina (30), Patrick (28) and Christopher (24). Schwarzenegger also has an illegitimate son, Joseph Baena (24).
Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt have been married since mid-2019. Their daughter was born in August 2020. The actor also has a nine-year-old son from a previous marriage to Anna Faris (45).
