Arthur witnessed storms in Corsica: he shares apocalyptic images of his trip to the sea
On vacation near Corsica, Arthur was surprised by the violent weather that fell on the island of beauty. The host of TF1 has also unveiled apocalyptic images of his trip to the sea Thursday, August 18, 2022 on Instagram.
Affected by several heat waves since the beginning of the summer, causing at the same time a great drought in certain regions, France must now face torrential rains. The last days, heavy rainfall flooded thethe streets of Paris, but also those of Lyon, Saint-Étienne, Cassis and Marseille. It has also fallen no less than 6 months of precipitation in barely 24 hours on the Marseille city. Furthermore, violent storms also fell on Corsica. The latter caused 6 deaths and 20 injuries, including 4 serious ones.
It was the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, who announced this terrible toll in the framework ofof his trip to the Sagonne campsite. Christophe Castaner’s successor also added that this human toll was “provisional“, given that “we have no news yet of all the people who were at sea and who obviously need to be rescued or protected”. For the moment, 11,000 homes are still without electricity on the island of beauty. For its part, the prefecture of Corse-du-Sud gave the order to evacuate “without delay” all the campsites in the department in which holidaymakers are accommodated within “light structures”. “We closely follow the operations that take place on land and at sea“, said Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.
