These eleven musicians will hit the ground running in 2022

In 2022, the music business will again have some artists to offer who could make their big breakthrough this year.
There are numerous newcomers every year, but only very few really make a breakthrough. In 2022 some musicians have the potential to really take off. From Nina Chuba to Schmyt to PinkPantheress: These are the artists you should have on your list in 2022.
Nina Chuba
Nina Chuba (23) made a name for herself as an actress as a child. So she stood in front of the camera at the age of eight in the series “Die Pfefferkörner”. This was followed by further engagements on television, but she also discovered music for herself. In 2021 she celebrated success with the songs “Beside me”, “Everything the same” and “Molly Moon”. At the beginning of 2022, Nina Chuba landed on the “New Music 2022” hotlist of the young ARD programs and Deutschlandfunk Nova. The German rapper will release her debut album in 2022.
Yecca
Yecca initially promoted herself via social media, but now she has taken off with her German-language songs and the mix of pop and rap. In 2021 she released several singles and the double EP “11” and “22”. It should continue to be successful this year.
Wilhelmine
Her single “Eins sein” became one of the viral hits of 2021 on TikTok and YouTube. The singer doesn’t mince words in her honest and emotional lyrics – whether it’s about her own coming out, alcohol addiction in the family circle or the topic of self-love. In 2022 she goes on tour, which is already almost sold out.
Schmyt
Profound lyrics and a great voice: Some people still know Schmyt from his time in the hip-hop electro group Rakede. The rapper and singer now performs solo and launched his EP “Gift” in 2021. In the same year he was nominated for a 1LiveKrone as “Best Newcomer Act”. He announced his debut album “Universum” for May 2022. We can still expect a lot from Schmyt.
loi
Singer Loi has goose bumps – and was already convincing in 2017 on “The Voice Kids”. But the big success is only now really coming. Their first single “I Follow” became the theme song for the film “Ostwind”. The young artist also has a large fan base on TikTok, which has grown through the covers of big hits. In 2022, Loi made it onto the “New Music 2022” hotlist – there will probably be more to come from her.
Montez
Montez (27), whose civil name is Luca Manuel Montesinos Gargallo, was traded as “Newcomer of the Year” by the online platforms “Hiphop.de” and “Juice” ten years ago. However, the rapper only made his breakthrough in 2021 with the song “Auf & ab”. In August, the hit conquered number one in the German single charts. After many ups and downs, 2022 could be his big year.
Red cap Raphi
Her recognition feature is not only her red hat, but also her songs. In 2020, Red Hat Raphi (20) first attracted attention with her song “C’est La Vie”. In 2021, the remix of the song “Love & Courvoisier” followed with none other than the band Seeed. In September of that year she accepted the New Music Award as “Newcomer:in of the Year”, now she is also on the “New Music 2022” hotlist.
Luna
Singer Luna (19) became famous in 2020 with her TikTok videos, and her song “Loser” became a chart topper. The songs “Blau” followed in 2021 and at the end of the year together with Lea (29) “Kisses like Gift”. Then in December Luna won a 1Live crown in the category “Best Newcomer Act” – she now has a great career ahead of her.
Dylan Fraser
Not only in Germany, but also internationally there are some interesting new artists. Dylan Fraser should be mentioned here, among others. The young Scot has dreamed of a great music career since he was a child, and this could become a reality in 2022. In 2021 he drew attention to himself with the song “Nightmare”. Will he make his final breakthrough in 2022?
Gabriels
Unlike most newcomers who are in their early 20s, the Gabriels are a bit more mature. Singer Jacob Lusk (34) is known in California for his Southern Gospel – his voice is unmistakable. Together with producers Ryan Hope and Art Balouzian he forms the band Gabriels, which released their first EP “Love And Hate In A Different Time” in 2021. A group that you probably won’t be able to avoid in 2022.
Pink Pantheress
The English pop singer PinkPantheress (born 2001) celebrated major chart successes in her home country in 2021 with the singles “Pain” and “Just For Me”. Previously, she had a viral hit on TikTok with “Just A Waste” in 2020. In 2022, she took first place in the BBC Sound of 2022 poll, which heralded as the star of the year.
