(Boursier.com) — Arval announces a strategic European partnership with the automobile manufacturer BYD (Build Your Dreams).
Founded in 1995, BYD is the only new energy vehicle manufacturer that has developed its own powertrains, batteries, automotive semiconductors, motors and motor control systems. BYD launched its innovative range of electric vehicles for European consumers in 2022. In just one year, BYD initiated the launch of 5 models in 19 countries in Europe, offering advanced electric vehicle technologies in terms of safety, efficiency and performance. In 2023, BYD will reach the historic number of 3 million new energy vehicles sold.
The MoU identifies key areas of cooperation between Arval and BYD with the aim of helping individuals transition to electric vehicles, and advising companies (local and international) in accelerating the electrification of their fleet. passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles. It also concerns new energy solutions combining electric vehicles, energy storage and solar devices. BYD’s range of electric vehicles offers Arval customers a wide choice to encourage the integration of these models into their fleet policies, and thus support the transition to electric engines. The MoU was signed during an official ceremony held at BYD’s global headquarters in Shenzhen, China, in the presence of Michael SHU, Managing Director of BYD Europe, Alain van Groenendael, President and CEO d’Arval, and other representatives of both parties.
The energy transition has been part of Arval’s DNA since the 90s. This partnership with BYD is one of the company’s initiatives to meet the challenge of electrifying fleets and accelerate the energy transition of its customers, to add to :
-specific consulting methodologies to develop mobility policies that support the energy transition such as the SMART (Sustainable Mobility and Responsibility Targeting) approach, involving the use of electric vehicles as well as mobility solutions complementary to the individual car, such as car sharing or cycling;
-complete pack of offers facilitating the adoption of electric vehicles, and in particular Arval Charging Services, which combines the rental of a charging station with that of an electric vehicle, and which complements the Arval charging card system and automatic reimbursement of electrical consumption of vehicles at home;
-Arval Connect, a telematics solution whose data collected guides the electrification of fleets: thanks to information on the actual daily mileage of vehicles and the mileage by type of road and by route, Arval Connect can identify vehicles eligible for electrification .
