There is a city e-bike on offer at Aldi this week. The equipment is good, the engine and range are particularly impressive.

If you are looking for a sensible new e-bike that will last for many years, you should look in the price range around 2,000 euros – at least if the battery size and motor strength should also be at a certain level. With cheaper margins you usually have to make significant compromises. There is currently a suitable model from Fischer in the Aldi online shop for 1,899 euros. The equipment is very good, the price is more than fair.
The Pedelec scores particularly well in two respects. The built-in battery has a generous capacity of 711 watt hours. With it, ranges of up to 170 kilometers are possible. In addition, the mid-engine from Bafang offers a torque of 65 Newton meters. This is really neat and is also sufficient for steep climbs.
In addition to a low-maintenance 7-speed hub gear from Shimano, the bike also offers a suspension fork and a spring seat post for comfortable riding. There are only no hydraulic disc brakes; Fischer uses classic rim brakes. A small drawback, but the rest of the equipment is fine.
Lighting system and luggage rack
The built-in lighting system offers a brightness of 90 lux, and there are also luggage racks (with a second level for bags) and mudguards. The weight is 30 kilograms, the permissible total weight is 150 kilograms.
For under 2,000 euros you get a well-equipped city bike that is also suitable for long tours. The equipment is really good, only the rim brakes deduct a point.
