Ary Abittan was finally confronted with his accuser, after his indictment for acts of “rape”, on November 2, 2021. The 48-year-old actor faced the young woman before a Parisian investigating judge, according to information exclusive of Sunday newspaper. Each of the parties spoke, allowing justice to move forward on this case which has left their lives in suspense for months. Ary Abittan’s lawyer, Me Caroline Toby, did not answer questions from the JDDas did counsel for the complainant, Me Arash Derambarsh.
“I have always been considerate with women, attentive. I have always been a generous boy with women. I consume, but always in an authentic and true way“said the comedian, whose career has been damaged since the scandal, who has denied from the start having abused his partner. The version of the alleged victim is as follows: after a first consensual sexual intercourse with Ary Abittan during the evening of October 30, 2021, she would have had an act of sodomy imposed on her and would have expressed her disagreement. After having gone to take refuge with a friend, she had a doctor from a medico-judicial unit (UMJ) note several bodily injuries to her private parts a few hours after the events described. At the time of the facts reported, Ary Abittan, divorced father of three children, was – and still is – in a relationship with Sarah-Line Attlan, his partner for three years.
Two other women’s testimonies leaked
Two testimonies have now been added to the file, indicates the JDD. The first, filed at the end of August 2022, comes from an actress who does not wish to file a complaint or initiate legal proceedings. The facts would have taken place during a shooting. Behind a screen in her underwear, she would have seen Ary Abittan emerge and touch her all over her body. “He had laughing eyes. He touched me everywhere, it looked like he had a thousand hands, the breasts obviously, the arms, I had the effect of a centipede on me“, she declared to the investigators. Pushed back, he would have reacted thus: “yeah ok zero humor we’re going to have fun with you, bitch.“
Everyone looked down or looked away.
The actress then described a second incident, during which he would have put his foot on his crotch under a table. Once again, she pushes him away:I exploded, I got up suddenly, I pushed the table, I told him he was disgusting (…) Everyone lowered their eyes or looked away. Ary Abittan called me crazy, that I took my wishes for realities“The director then went to her and asked her to keep a low profile because the comedian was the star of the film,”the new Bourvil“.
The second testimony comes from a woman who met him at a private party. After exchanging her number with him, she is quickly recontacted by the hero of the saga What the hell have we done?. She was then disturbed by his abrupt attitude and moved away considering that things were going too fast. He would then have decided to fold his laundry in front of her. “He told me he had obsessive compulsive disorder and his life was complicated. He had a behavior that is not that of someone normal, of a man who tries to seduce a woman; it was too bestial and now he behaved like a child who can’t manage his frustration“, explains this woman. Subsequently, he would never have wanted to explain his behavior to her.
I have no personal interest to testify today
If she wanted to testify a posteriori, it was to show her support for the accuser: “I saw that it was a young girl, that it must have been hard for her. I don’t know her at all. I have no personal interest to testify today; it can cause me problems. But I said to myself that if I had been younger when I met Ary Abittan, the same thing would have happened to me. I wanted this young woman to know that she was not the only one to have suffered from the behavior of Ary Abittan (…) I think he does not realize the harm he can do.”
Ary Abittan remains presumed innocent of the charges until the final judgment of this case.
