Advantages of burning: why it’s still worth it
Although USB sticks or external hard drives are increasingly being used to transport data, traditional CDs and DVDs are still alive. They can be used for security or entertainment purposes: if you burn important content on CD, for example, it will be available on it from then on – even if your PC or one of its USB sockets goes on strike. Malicious programs known as ransomware do not stop at hard drive / SSD files and backups, but they do not stop at silver disk backups – once they are finalized, they cannot be changed. Last but not least, silver discs are suitable for passing on to others: You may not want to give an expensive USB stick out of your hand, but a cheap blank disc written on it is probably more likely.
