Yes, Valentine’s Day is all about the love between two people. But what about the relationship with yourself? Often enough, the topic of self-love falls behind in stressful everyday life and takes place less. Self-confidence and love for oneself and one’s body should be constant companions in life.
Ashley Graham: Love yourself instead of hiding
On Instagram, model Ashley Graham shows how she celebrates self-love. In the photo she posted today, Ashley can be seen holding her stomach tightly. Completely naked and unprotected from the judgment of others. There are dents to be seen, a gram or two of fat. But that doesn’t bother Ashley one bit. On the contrary! The 35-year-old’s fans also like the blunt honesty. “The most honest we know,” writes her make-up artist Katie Janes Huges under the photo.
A trend to fall in love with
And German bloggers are also copying the American model Ashley Graham. Charlotte Weise, for example, posted a photo a few days ago in which she squeezes her stomach with her hands.
Instead of having to listen to further comments and questions about her body, she makes a statement: she is not pregnant, she just likes to eat, she comments on her picture. It’s important to love yourself the way you are. Evelyn Weigert, who also jumps on the trend, thinks so too.
She admits that she often can’t love her body the way it is. On other days it is easier for her, on others it is harder. They want to make everyone aware that this is completely normal. The main thing is that the topic is becoming more and more relevant. After all, Valentine’s Day is a day of love – for your partner, but above all for yourself!
