The popular quiz show “Gefragt – Gejagt” is saying goodbye to the winter break after more than 80 episodes and with several ratings records.

The winter break for the quiz elite from “Gefragt – Gejagt” is almost upon us. With the show on Friday (October 6th), the team around presenter Alexander Bommes (47) is taking a well-deserved break after four months and over 80 episodes. With the new season, which is now coming to an end, the popular quiz show has once again set some ratings records, as the ARD program management announced in a press release.

Overall, the season of the fast-paced quiz show achieved a reach of 2.36 million viewers. This means that the market share increased to 17.3 percent compared to the previous year (for comparison: an average of 15.8 percent in 2022). In particular, the two XXL shows of “Gefragt – Gejagt” on August 5th and 19th caused great interest among the TV audience. The first primetime special was watched by 3.87 million people, the second by 3.90 million.

In September, two episodes also achieved market shares of over 20 percent for the first time. “Germany’s fastest quiz has once again proven that it is unique. Whether in the studio or at home – the show simply makes you want to guess,” congratulated Christoph Schmidt, managing director ARD Eve, the quiz show.

Fans of the TV show don’t have to give up their favorite show completely after the season is over. From Monday (October 9th) the event weeks with “Alone against all” will take place for ten days.

On German TV for over ten years

In 2012, “Gefragt – Gejagt” started with six episodes on NDR, before the quiz show moved to Erste in 2015 to its traditional broadcast slot on weekdays at 6 p.m. Alexander Bommes was there as a moderator from the start. In the show, a team of candidates competes against professional quiz players. The “hunters” of the current season included editor Annegret Schenkel, “The Generalist” Adriane Rickel (49), “The Quiz Volcano” Dr. Manuel Hobiger (41), “The Know-It-All” Sebastian Klussmann (34), “The Quiz God” Sebastian Jacoby (45), “The Quiz Doctor” Dr. Thomas Kinne (62) and “The Librarian” Klaus Otto Nagorsnik (68).

“Asked – Hunted” is based on “The Chase”. The British ITV show, which pits a team of contestants against the “Hunter”, a professional quiz player, was developed in 2009. The quiz is also running in the USA, Australia and many other countries.
