Assa Abloy: London to investigate Arran Isle takeover

(CercleFinance.com) – The British competition authority, the CMA, announced on Monday the opening of an investigation into the planned acquisition of door handle distributor Arran Isle by the Swedish group Assa Abloy.

In a press release, the CMA explains that it wants to determine whether this transaction, if it were to be completed, could result in “a substantial lessening of competition” in the United Kingdom.

The CMA calls on the public to comment on the case until February 28, before deciding whether or not to open a further investigation, known as ‘phase 1’.

Assa Abloy, the world leader in door opening solutions, announced the takeover of British door and window manufacturer Arran Isle last September.
