Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade: Runaway gameplay for mobile games

A few weeks ago, we learned of the existence of four new Assassin’s Creed games during a broadcast dedicated to the saga. between episode Mirage which will arrive in early 2023 and the many projects that will take us to China or Japan, fans of the franchise will have plenty to do in the coming years. If most will arrive on our traditional consoles, a major opus will arrive on mobile, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade. Confined to a simple cinematic so far, the title is the cost of a leak which reveals gameplay for the first time.

A promising mobile episode?

It’s a video of almost three minutes of gameplay that was posted by a Facebook user, reported and then recovered on Reddit. Although this one is not in maximum quality, it still allows us to see the game running for the very first time. And we must admit that this Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade seems to be wearing like a charm.

We thus see a game session where the player walks through a fortress. We see gameplay, combat as well as some cutscenes, with characters like Dengling Bai and Wei Yu. Jumping, melee combat, zip line… the mechanics that we can see do not seem to fundamentally upset the habits of the saga but turn out to adapt rather well to the mobile format.

What we remember above all is that these images have something to make us curious. The graphics look absolutely gorgeous for a mobile title, and the fluidity seems to be there. We remember all the same that it is a leak and that these images were not intended for the general public. The quality therefore does not reflect the final product and we imagine that Ubisoft would have preferred to show its first gameplay in another format.

This title will send us to China, at the very beginning of the 3rd century and will send us to an open world designed for mobile. We are promised one of the most beautiful games made for this platform, which seems to be the case, and it should be available for free, free-to-play, with in-app purchases. We therefore inevitably have some fears about these microtransactions.

For now, we don’t know when Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will be available, or whether it will ever land on Switch or PC. It is currently only planned on smartphone and should arrive before the episode which will take place in Japan (Codename Red), but after Assassin’s Creed Mirageplanned for him during 2023 on PC and consoles.
