The Assassin’s Creed Hexe leak comes more precisely from Insider Gaming, a well-known site regarding Ubisoft productions. He had access to first-hand information and even a video putting the game in action. If he was only able to share the sound and words, what comes from it looks very promising in any case!
Assassin’s Creed Hexe comes out of the woods
Assassin’s Creed Hexe was announced for the very first time during a Ubisoft Forward in 2022. At the time, we were only treated to its code name and an image suggesting a particularly dark game compared to the others titles from Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. Last night, Insider Gaming confirmed these suspicions of witchcraft by detailing elements gleaned from a video that it was not authorized to share.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe should therefore place its story in the 16th century in Central Europe, more precisely in the heart of the Holy Roman Empire. We should play Elsa, a woman with supernatural powers. The historical period chosen by Ubisoft lends itself particularly well to such a setting. Remember that trials aimed at burning witches were legion at the time. Insider Gaming was able to see Elsa use one of her powers. In this case, she took possession of a cat to distract the lansquenets, emblematic soldiers of the time. The distraction was accomplished by causing a bottle to shatter on the ground. All this would have been depicted in a particularly dark and sinister setting, in horribly dirty streets that A Plague Tale would not have denied.
Censored witchcraft
Unfortunately, we will have to be satisfied with this short textual description concerning Assassin’s Creed Hexe. Insider Gaming, however, shared the extract that it was able to see, only highlighting the sound part. We’re not going to share it here, but you can easily find it if you feel like it. In any case, everything looks particularly promising.
At present, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is still in an early phase of its development at Ubisoft Montreal. According to Insider Gaming, the title could be released in 2026, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. This would also fit well with the release schedule of Ubisoft’s flagship franchise. Remember that the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Red could be released soon. We should also see this highly anticipated opus taking place in Japan during the next Ubisoft Forward scheduled for June 10. In any case, this is a lot of exciting news for fans of the hooded license!
