Assassin’s Creed Origins: Fans are finally getting what they’ve been wanting for a long time

After 4 years, Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed Origins seems to be getting another big update. The patch is due out in just a few days and will finally give the game a 60fps option on next-gen consoles.

For PS5 & Xbox Series? Assassin’s Creed Origins gets 60fps patch

In winter 2021, the developers of the Assassin’s Creed series made the fans very happy. For the official AC Day, it was announced that the team would be looking into the possibility of a 60fps patch for Assassin’s Creed Origins – even though Bayek’s digital adventure is now gone more than 4 years has under his belt.

Although it was not specifically announced that this change will only come for the next-gen consoles, it seems absurd that a corresponding option will also be submitted for the last-gen consoles. The older devices should simply not have the necessary hardware performance.

Now the next-gen patch seems to be in the starting blocks. On Twitter, the account PlayStation Game Size reports at least that a corresponding PlayStation database entry for AC Origins update 1.60 has surfaced.

The post also provides insight into the patch notes. That’s how the update should be allow higher frame rates when players play on a PS5 and also add a “franchise menu” to the main menu. While it doesn’t explain what it is, we assume the new menu item will be used to direct players to other parts of the Assassin’s Creed series and link directly to the PlayStation Store where they are can buy the sequels.

According to PlayStation Game Size, the new patch should be released next week – between May 24th and 26th.
