Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and other Ubisoft games soon to return to Steam?

If on consoles players have no choice, given that only one store is available, namely the official store, on PC, the community has more possibilities, with the different platforms. Each major publisher has its own launcher (Electronic Arts, Ubisoft or Blizzard), to which must be added Steam and the Epic Games Store, bringing together many games, major and independent.

In the case of Ubisoft, the publisher has chosen to offer its games only on the Epic Games Store, in addition to its platform, since 2019, snubbing Steam, which is the market leader (but offers higher commissions). In fact, a multitude of users have not necessarily been able to discover the latest productions of the French giant, which has however achieved great performances, in particular with Valhalla and Far Cry 6. But this choice to abandon Steam could be reviewed, as evidenced by the page of the latest Assassin’s Creed, on Ubisoft Connect.

The information was shared by YoobieRe, who discovered a mention of Steam on the Valhalla page, which could imply the arrival of the title on said platform. Very quickly, Ubisoft reacted by indicating that it would not comment on the rumor, without however sweeping it away.

The return of Ubisoft games to Steam could be good news for all parties. The studio would benefit from the power of Steam and a nice highlight on a platform used by millions of users every day, while players could limit the number of launchers and gain in practicality. However, it will be necessary to wait for an official communication from Ubisoft before the operation is carried out.
