Qforty-four. Forty-four deputies are missing for Emmanuel Macron to reach the threshold of the absolute majority necessary to pass his reforms in the Assembly. Since the electoral setback on Sunday evening, the president and his closest advisers have been working tirelessly to try to convince opposition parliamentarians to ally themselves with the majority. “It’s playable,” promised his collaborators. The Head of State therefore took the bull by the horns by inviting the political leaders of the Palais-Bourbon to the Elysée Palace one by one to discuss. He also mandated his Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne to form “a majority of action”.
