Assetto Corsa: the next game will be “much, much more” than a sequel, but not a spin-off

Kunos Simulations did very well with Assetto Corsa, a simulation-oriented racing game that met the expectations of demanding players. The studio has since developed Assetto Corsa Competizionewith some GTa title which was codenamed AC2 during its design, enough to confuse the players a little, because it is indeed a spin off.

Marco Massarutto, studio director, spoke with OverTakeparticularly regarding the arrival of the Nürburgring Nordschleife In Assetto Corsa Competizionebut he also discussed the entire franchise, admitting that the code name for his latest simulation game was clearly not a good idea:

To be brief, the AC2 code name that was given to Competizione was incorrect. The new Assetto Corsa will be a continuation of what we did with Assetto Corsa 1. It’s not just a sequel, it’s much, much more than that. It’s definitely not a spin-off like Competizione.

Massarutto further explains that the development of the Nürburgring circuit took a lot of time to Kunos Simulationsthe announcement was also made by their partner SRO Motorsports Groupwhich manages the Fanatec GT World Challenge present in the game AC Competition, the surprise was total, even for the developers. THE DLC still does not have a precise release date, it will obviously include the test of 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

Concerning Assetto Corsa 2, Digital Brosowner of the publisher 505 Games, announced a release in spring 2024, but we should probably not count on it too much. Otherwise you can find Assetto Corsa Competizione from €29.99 on Amazon, Cdiscount And there Fnac.
