Astrid and Raphaëlle on France 2: why does Astrid (Sara Mortensen) wear a hat to sleep? The answer is unusual

Season 4 of “Astrid and Raphaelle”, which is currently broadcast every Friday evening on France 2, allows us to learn more about the character of Astrid, in particular an unusual anecdote, thought up by her interpreter.

It has now been more than four years since France 2 viewers met the character of Astrid, a young woman with autism, as brilliant as she is disconcerting, who helps Commander Raphaëlle Coste solve very unusual investigations. each other, in the detective series Astrid and Raphaëlle.

Over the course of the episodes, the two heroines gradually built a beautiful friendship, which is today the asset of this successful fiction. In season 4, which is currently broadcast every Friday on France 2, their relationship takes a new turn when Raphaëlle, then in the middle of moving, comes to spend the night in Astrid’s well-ordered apartment.

An impromptu “pajama party” which will turn out to be hectic for the latter, who doesn’t appreciate being disturbed in her little habits. This rather funny scene from the first episode was the opportunity for fans of Astrid and Raphaëlle to discover that the character played by Sara Mortensen sleeps with a woolen hat.

A rather unusual outfit whose idea was born directly from the brain of the actress, as she explained to us during a press briefing.

She wears a hat because otherwise her hair gets tangled”, revealed Sara Mortensen to us. “Otherwise she has hair in her face and she doesn’t like it.” And the actress really thought of everything when coming up with this idea.

Autistic people have increased sensory perception. They are in fact very sensitive to sensory stimuli, such as noises, smells or light, and sometimes need to cut themselves off from the world to avoid sensory overload.

This is an element that Sara Mortensen took into account when proposing this idea, the actress taking great care to research a lot on the subject. “The hair moves on the pillow, and as a result, it’s stuck there so she can’t hear it.”, she clarified before adding: “She also wears earplugs, so she can hear even less..” A simple explanation that fits Astrid’s character very well.

Watch a new, unreleased episode of season 4 of Astrid and Raphaëlle this Friday, November 24 from 9:10 p.m. on France 2. The episodes are already available in preview on the france.tv platform.
