When US rapper Travis Scott performed at the Astroworld Music Festival in Houston, there was a mass panic on Friday evening.

At the Astroworld music festival in Houston, Texas, on Friday evening (November 5th, local time) at least eight people were killed in a mass panic. “Dozens” were injured and 17 patients were taken to local hospitals, the Houston fire chief confirmed according to CNN at a press conference.

According to this, during a performance by US rapper Travis Scott (29), who has organized the festival for years, there was a heavy crush that moved more and more towards the stage. “People began to fall over, passed out and that led to additional panic,” the official is quoted as saying. The concert was then canceled.

Concerts for Saturday canceled

A total of around 50,000 people are said to have attended the two-day festival that evening. The planned performances on Saturday (November 6th) have been canceled until further notice. In addition to Travis Scott, SZA (31), Bad Bunny (27) and 21 Savage (29) should be on stage. So far, neither the artists nor the organizers have commented on the latest events.
