Founded in 1993 in Tokyo, the high-end streetwear brand BAPE (for A Bathing Ape) quickly forged a great reputation, especially when American artists began to wear clothes adorned with the famous ape logo. We think in particular of Pharrell Williams, Kanye West or Jay-Z. The name of the brand comes from a Japanese expression meaning “to take it easy”, so as much to say that BAPE… it’s cool! Today, Asus is joining forces with BAPE’s 30th anniversary to announce the arrival of an exclusive version of its Vivobook Pro 15 OLED laptop.
On the program first of all, an exclusive design with gray camouflage patterns placed on the back of the screen, also gray, but darker, as well as on the touchpad. Original designs in the spirit of the brand have been made especially for this PC by the creatives of BAPE with the famous little monkey’s head, all remaining relatively discreet. The words “Asus Vivobook A Bathing Ape” are engraved on a metal plate.
The collaboration does not stop there since the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED will be accompanied by numerous accessories proudly bearing the colors of BAPE. On the program first of all, a carrying bag to take your PC safely, even if you have to forget about discretion. The fabric of the bag takes up the theme of camouflage, but here in color (either in blue tones or in khaki), with the added bonus of emblematic characters from the Japanese brand. The same pattern is taken up by the mouse, which is part of the standard endowment with a cover, a figurine and stickers. It will even be possible to stick small BAPE stickers on the keyboard keys to push the customization even further!
The set takes place in an equally exclusive packaging.
A few words on the PC… anyway
We do not yet know all the details of the configuration … or the configurations of this limited series. The Asus Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is based on a 15.6-inch 2.8K (2880 x 1620 pixels) 120 Hz OLED screen which occupies 85.5% of the front of the computer. It accommodates 13th generation Intel Core processors up to Core i9-13900H. On the graphics circuit side, the most powerful versions are powered by the Intel Arc A350M card. RAM can climb up to 16 GB and storage up to 1 TB. The Vivobook Pro 15 OLED has 6E wifi, MIL-STD 810H durability certification and an antibacterial coating. It will therefore be necessary to wait until August 17 to learn more, in particular with regard to the price and availability.
