Asus Zenfone 11: an Ultra model is being developed to accompany the compact smartphone

The Zenfone series seemed to be in the hot seat, with those best informed in the mobile industry counting on the abandonment of this range of smartphones by Asus, which the brand was quick to deny. And it seems that the Zenfone 10, a compact smartphone that stood out during our laboratory tests, will not be left without a successor. It could also be that the Taiwanese manufacturer is not content with one Zenfone 11, but offers two.

According to the elements collected by Android Authority (from Reddit), the Zenfone 11 would be accompanied by an Ultra model. Asus would thus break with its habit, at least for its latest generations of mobiles, aiming to only offer a Zenfone.

And this Ultra version would not be there to make up the numbers… This smartphone would be equipped with a technical sheet that is, to say the least, posh, reflecting new ambitions for the manufacturer. Asus would thus equip it with elements close to a ROG Phone 8, namely a 6.78 inch screen, Amoled, LTPO and equipped with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. It would be “powered” by a Snapdragon chip. 8 Gen 3, the latest from Qualcomm, accompanied by a maximum of 16 GB of RAM.

Its battery would peak at 5500 mAh and would charge at 65 W in wired or 15 W in wireless mode. The photo component, less in the spotlight than its power, would include a main module of 50 Mpx, an ultra wide-angle module of 13 Mpx and a last one of 32 Mpx with telephoto lens.

The Zenfone 11 Ultra would adopt a large format case, thus breaking with the previous smartphones in the range, unlike the Zenfone 11. The standard model, about which little is known, appeared at the end of January in a Google listing Play Console, found by 91mobiles. The latter reported a smartphone equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or 4 chip, 16 GB of RAM and running Android 14.

All that remains is to hope that it retains the contained dimensions that make the Zenfone specific to this day. All this will have to be confirmed during the presentation of the smartphones which, depending on whether Asus opts for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or 4, could take place before… or after summer 2024.
