His illness makes his daily life unbearable. Marc Spaganuolo is a 35-year-old American, who spent ten years doing batteries of medical examinations to understand why he couldn’t stop himself from defecating. After a decade, a doctor finds his pathology: an autoimmune disease has made him totally incontinent. His condition, called peripheral neuropathy, causes his brain to receive no signals when his bladder and bowels are full.
To avoid staining all his clothes, only one solution: Marc Spaganuolo must wear diapers all day long. A characteristic that could not be more embarrassing, but which he ended up accepting. This is how this 30-year-old started making videos on TikTok to let other people with incontinence know that they are not alone. Currently looking for love, Marc is even open and honest about his condition on his dating profile – saying most people are “open and understanding” on this subject.

“It started with bedwetting. I tried to hide it and put it on my dog’s back at first. My dog was old, so I got away with it for a few months. Eventually my dad found out and said ‘we have to take you to the doctor’. I didn’t want to go, but my dad said it could be a urinary tract infection. This convinced me. It was embarrassment that kept me from going. It wasn’t like it happened every night, it was sporadic at first. Here and there. Now it’s everyday.” the latter testified.
While the doctors had told him that this problem would disappear with the years, it is not so. For Marc, the ultimate proof of trust was the creation of his TikTok account. Under the pseudonym “The Diaper Dynamo”, Marc explains how incontinence affects his daily life. “One of the biggest challenges in my life is the world of love relationships, because it’s been such a gradual process for me to get to where I am now. But of course, I would like to meet someone.” But thanks to his TikTok, he hopes to tap into a more understanding community that will eventually allow him to find love..
