A 68-year-old Spanish actress, who has just welcomed a baby through a surrogate mother, revealed that this child is actually the biological daughter of her son who died in 2020.
His story caused a stir in Spain. At 68, actress Ana Obregón said having welcomed, at the age of 68, a little girl born in the United States thanks to surrogacy, a prohibited practice on the Iberian side. But the story didn’t end there as this mainly 1980s Spanish film star revealed that this baby was actually his granddaughter sinceshe was conceived with the sperm of her deceased son, Alejandro Lequio García at the age of 27 in 2020.
The actress also revealed that the little girl was named Ana Sandra Lequio Obregón and that she was already nicknamed Anita. “She’s Aless’s daughter and when she grows up I’ll tell her her dad was a hero so she knows who she is and how proud she should be of him.”explained the 68-year-old grandmother, before adding that the idea of having this baby was born “the day when [son] child has gone to heaven”.

And if the little girl will legally be his daughter, the latter will always know that in reality, Ana Obregón is her grandmother. For the Spanish celebrity, the arrival of little Ana saved her life : “That’s what kept me alive. Without it, I wouldn’t be here”, she said. On Instagram, she shared the cover of her interview and captioned: “My Aless: I swore to save you from cancer and I failed. I promised you that I would give birth to your daughter and here she is in my arms. […] You are the love of my life in heaven and your daughter is the love of my life on earth.” By exposing this information so publicly, Ana Obregón provoked a debate on the legalization of surrogacyin Spain.
