- After the firearm incident on Tuesday morning (local time) in the New York subway, the police caught the alleged perpetrator after a tip from the public.
- The suspect is a 62-year-old man who was initially classified as a “person of interest”.

The key tip was received by a telephone hotline: the suspect was in a fast food restaurant in the East Village in southeast Manhattan, it said.
According to authorities, police stationed in the area then searched the area and arrested the suspect at the corner of First Avenue and St. Marks Place, a popular East Village nightlife street. The 62-year-old did not resist.
Perpetrator is said to have acted alone
According to the first investigation results, the perpetrator acted alone, according to Mayor Eric Adams. “There is currently no evidence that there was an accomplice.” According to the Philadelphia police, the suspect rented a pickup truck. Perpetrators were considered dangerous
According to police chief Keechant Sewell, the perpetrator suddenly put on a type of gas mask on an N-Manhattan train just before the 36th Street station and then opened a canister that emitted fog or smoke. Then he opened fire. His motive is so far unclear.
According to Sewell, a semi-automatic handgun, several magazines and a small ax were found at the crime scene. A liquid believed to be petrol and a bag of fireworks were also found.
