Dortmund neo-Nazi Borchardt is dead

For a long time he was the head of the Dortmund right-wing extremist scene: Siegfried Borchardt dies at the weekend at the age of 67. He is known nationwide as “SS-Siggi”.

The Dortmund neo-Nazi Siegfried Borchardt is dead. He died after a short hospital stay at the age of 67 in the Ruhr area city, said the splinter party Dierechte. The police confirmed the death of the right-wing extremist known as “SS-Siggi”. According to “Neues Deutschland”, he complained on Saturday in his Telegram channel, in which he was disseminating right-wing extremist content and ideological conspiracy, of pain in his leg and suspected a thrombosis.

Borchardt was one of the heads of the Dortmund right-wing extremist scene for a long time and was also known nationwide. In 2014, he briefly sat on the Dortmund city council for Dierechte, but resigned his mandate after only two months. In the 80s he was the leader of the right-wing “Borussen Front”, for the “Freedom German Workers’ Party” (FAP) he ran unsuccessfully in several elections. The FAP was banned in 1995.

Borchardt’s criminal record is long, including sedition, breach of the peace, property damage and dangerous bodily harm. Borchardt was always involved in neo-Nazi marches and also showed the Hitler salute – for this reason, for example, the Dortmund district court sentenced him to four months’ imprisonment in 2003 without parole. He could also have had contact with the National Socialist Underground (NSU). An ammunition package was found in an NSU shelter that was labeled “Siggi” but could never be assigned to Borchardt.
