Where are the markets headed in 2022?
Despite the corona crisis, 2021 was a good year for the stock markets. Nevertheless, the pandemic will continue to be a determining topic in the coming year and it is unclear how much a renewed lockdown could burden the economy, which has only just started up again. High inflation should also continue to weigh on the markets. How will the central banks take countermeasures and what does that mean for the stock exchanges? Are investments in commodities like gold and oil worthwhile? Friedhelm Tilgen speaks with Dirk Heß from Citigroup and Heiko Böhmer from asset manager Shareholder Value Management about possible scenarios for 2022 and which investment strategies can be advisable for which scenario.
