(Boursier.com) — Atos fell 3.6% this Friday to 10.79 euros, in a still lively market. According to BFMTV, the government would be “little excited” by the supposed offensive ofAirbus on the Atos subsidiary, Evidian. Citing sources, BFMTV reports that the French government considers that German influence and power within Airbus would be too strong to allow the sale of Atos cybersecurity activities to the company. The article goes on to note that the French government would likely favor Thales to acquire the Atos unit.

Earlier this month, ‘Les Echos’ reported that Airbus was considering taking a minority stake in the capital of Evidian, the digital and cybersecurity business branch of Atos, which the IT services group will split. In a press release, Airbus then indicated, however, that it did not comment on market rumours, adding that it was “in constant discussion with our partners, customers and suppliers”. Contacted by Reuters, Atos said it had engaged, in connection with the implementation of its strategic plan, “exploratory discussions with potential future minority shareholders in the scope of activities grouped under the name of Evidian”.

Atos had rejected in September an offer to buy Evidian for an enterprise value of 4.2 billion euros from the Onepoint group. It announced in the summer of 2022 its split project aimed at separating and combining the Big Data and Security (BDS) activities with its service operations, within an entity called Evidian.
