The digital services company acknowledges the failure of its negotiations with Daniel Kretinsky. The Czech billionaire will not buy Tech Foundations.
Atos, at the head of which managers have come and gone for several months, had the ambition to sell its outsourcing activity to Daniel Kretinsky’s company EPEI. An operation which was to bring it new money, while the group’s financial situation is increasingly complicated. Unfortunately, this sale, which was supposed to be a breath of fresh air for Atos, will ultimately not be possible.
No agreement between partners
More bad news for Atos! The group has just announced, at the same time as Daniel Kretinsky’s company EIPEI, that negotiations for the sale of Tech Foundations ended in failure. The two parts “ did not reach a satisfactory mutual agreement. »
According to general manager Paul Saleh, this decision was made by “ mutual consent ”, which will therefore not result in compensation. Management also affirms that no other candidate for takeover has yet come forward, which could push it, in the long term, to consider the sale of other assets to cope with financial difficulties.
Daniel Kretinsky not well regarded by shareholders
Despite these problems, the end of negotiations with Daniel Kretinsky was rather well received within Atos. According to the managing partner of the consulting company Swann Capital, interviewed by The Telegram« maybe it’s not bad news [car Daniel Kretinsky était] very badly viewed by many shareholders. »
It must be said that doubts about the feasibility of the operation have been present for several months already. Thus, at the beginning of January, Paul Saleh indicated that the negotiations were taking “ more time than expected, and there is no certainty that they will reach an agreement. » Now we know. So what will Atos now be able to do to fill its empty coffers?
