This Friday, July 22, a macabre discovery was made near Carcassonne. According to information relayed by theAFP this Sunday, July 24, the body of an octogenarian was found in a very shocking place : “A lady was discovered in a freezer, an investigation to find the causes of death has been opened”, said the Carcassonne prosecution. The woman’s body was discovered at her home. In order to understand what happened, an investigation was opened by the Carcassonne gendarmerie research brigade.

This Saturday, July 23, an autopsy was also carried out. According The Midi Dispatch, the victim was seen, shortly before the tragedy, in front of the stalls of a mobile fishmonger, which regularly crosses the village in which she lives. Pfor now, the circumstances surrounding this macabre discovery still remain unclear. But according to France Blue Occitania, her husband, who lived with her, would have called the gendarmes. Worried not to see his wife, he would have warned the police. At this stage of the investigation, he has not been taken into custody.

Man missing in 2012 found in freezer in 2021

A case that echoes that of a man, also found in his freezer by the British authorities. Indeed, on October 15, 2021, Roy Biggs was found alive: “We believe Roy’s body had been in that freezer for several years.” According to British law enforcement, the man disappeared in 2012 in east London. Thanks to his dental impressions, the man could be identified. The British police then launched an appeal for witnesses: “Talking to people who knew him will help us establish not only his lifestyle and habits, but also the date he was last seen (…) If you knew Roy, please don’t hesitate to contact us. He was born on September 8, 1944 and we believe he was around 70 when he died.”
