Even if summer is currently letting us down in terms of weather, these changes are guaranteed in August. Here you can find out who can look forward to this month and which products will disappear completely from the market.
After some changes, such as parental allowance, which caused a lot of discussion in July, there are also some in the last real summer month Innovations on the agenda. We will be confronted with these innovations in August, ranging from new training occupations and the abolition of everyday objects to increasing the training allowance for some trainees.
August 2023: Off for fluorescent tubes
Fluorescent lamps containing mercury have long been banned for a good reason, because they are not only dangerous for the environment, but also for us humans. Fluorescent tubes, however, were previously exempt from this. From August 25, fluorescent tubes, so-called T8 and T5 fluorescent lamps, may neither be sold nor produced.
Tax return 2021: It is due this month
Normally, the deadline for filing the tax return is in February of the following year. However, due to the corona pandemic, this deadline for 2021 was extended to August 31, 2023.
New apprenticeship
Anyone looking for an innovative apprenticeship should prick up their ears now. As a “designer for immersive media”, trainees learn in a three-year apprenticeship how to develop virtual worlds with immersive technologies. All the basics are taught that are necessary for the design of a computer-generated environment. The prerequisite for the training is either a very good secondary school certificate or the Abitur.
Twice full moon
Moon lovers can enjoy a special full moon event twice this month. The first full moon can be seen on August 1st. A so-called super moon because it is extremely close to the earth during this time. On August 31st the full moon shows up again. Two full moons in a month are otherwise rather rare.
