At the start of the school year, Aurélie Pons and Kendji Girac will play a couple in Champion. On Instagram, the actress published a first shot with the singer on the set of the TV movie.
A duo that no one expected! For the needs of the TV movie Champion, Aurélie Pons and Kendji Girac met in Marseille. On her Instagram account this Saturday, March 19, the one who participated in Dancing with the Stars posted a snapshot with the winner of The Voice. “Shooting 1st TV movie! In Marseille baby. It’s coming out in the fall, be ready!”, she wrote in the caption of a slideshow. And like the singer, who has “can’t wait to see it” Internet users seem charmed. In this telefilm which has the theme of illiteracy, she will play the role of Marjorie, the girlfriend of the main character, Zack, played by Kendji Girac. At 24, his character is passionate about boxing and works as a carpenter in the family business.
But his life will be turned upside down when an accident will plunge his father into a coma and force him to take over the reins of the family business while he is illiterate. For the singer, this role is a first. “I finally feel ready!he recently confided to the Parisian. I have been using cameras for a few years for my music videos or for TV shows. It took me a while to get comfortable with all of this. It was a real job for me. (…) I learned over time to relax. I’ve been preparing for months by taking acting classes.” For this role, Kendji Girac had to transform to become 100% Zach. “I changed my style of dress, I built up muscles and I grew my beard to the point of not recognizing myself”, he explained to our colleagues.
Champion: when will the TV movie be broadcast?
“I lost a little weight (…) There will be a few scenes where I will be seen shirtless. With my girlfriends, we will have scenes where we will be closer and therefore, suddenly, it is better to be prepared !, he added on TFX. My goal is to get to 74 kilos. I would have lost about 6 kilos in a month.” In Champion, viewers will therefore find Kendji Girac, Aurélie Pons but also Jean-Michel Tinivelli (Alice Nevers), Lubna Azabal (Braqueurs), François Creton (Gears) or even Keanu Peyran, seen in Clem. For the moment, the precise date of the broadcast of the TV movie directed by Mona Achache, has not yet been announced by TF1.
