For many people, isolation after a corona infection means loneliness and boredom. Not so for the Australian Sarah Henley: Because she and her Tinder date both tested positive for the corona virus, the two went into isolation together. In Australia, isolation lasts at least seven days after testing positive.
Since then, the single woman has regularly posted videos on Tiktok that give an insight into the extraordinary situation. The two of them drink beer, play Mario Kart or do the laundry. The Australian’s contributions go viral – the first video alone has already been viewed over 20 million times.
“Free trial relationship”
It’s still unclear why she decided Henley to stick with her Tinder date instead of isolating herself at home. Under one of the videos, she only wrote that this was not possible for personal reasons.
The Tiktok community is definitely happy and overwhelms the posts with comments. “At least you now know what it is like to live with him,” writes one user. Another thinks that the isolation is a “free, seven-day test relationship”.
Many Australians isolated
Like Sarah Henley, tens of thousands of people are currently in isolation or quarantine in Australia. As in Switzerland, the infrastructure threatens to reach its limits. While the country was initially able to cope with the high number of cases, the number of daily cases has exploded in the last few days. The reason for this is the highly contagious Omikron variant. On Monday, the country counted around 67,000 new infections within 24 hours.
Sarah Henley and her date, however, don’t just seem to complain about a mild course of the virus, they are actually making the best of the situation – much to the delight of the World Wide Web. (bra)
