Australian Open: Australian government welcomes win over Djokovic

The Australian government welcomed on Sunday the rejection by the Federal Court of Australia of the appeal of the world No.1 in tennis, the Serbian Novak Djokovic, against the cancellation of his visa and his expulsion. “Australia’s firm border protection policy has kept us safe during the pandemicof Covid-19, Immigration Minister Alex Hawke said in a statement. “Australians have made great sacrifices to get here and the Morrison government is determined to protect that position.” he added.
