Avatar 2: a breathtaking first trailer

It is from this Wednesday, May 4, the day of release in French theaters of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, that spectators will be able to discover the trailer for “Avatar: The way of water” before the screening of the Marvel movie.

Expected in France on December 14, this second part will be released 13 years after the film directed by James Cameron in 2009. And will follow the story of Jake Sully and Neytiri who, since the events of the first film, have become parents. About ten years later, their tribe sees the reappearance on their land of the men of the Resources Development Administration, a non-governmental organization that has come to plunder the wealth of their planet, Pandora. Forced to take refuge near the reefs, they meet another clan, the Metkayina, who are particularly wary of them.

In the United States as in France, the journalists having discovered in preview Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could watch the first trailer of Avatar: the way of the water in 3D.

A visual success

According to the first feedback, and our own feelings (having had the chance to discover the images too) at the sight of the trailer, this second film promises to be at least as successful visually as the first, with a will particular to reveal all the diversity of Pandora. The almost total absence of dialogue does not allow to learn much more about the general intrigue. If it is not that the children of Jake and Neytiri will most certainly be called upon to play a decisive role in the four planned sequels.

Whose scriptwriting – and James Cameron’s demand for them – explains the 13-year wait between the first film and its sequels, the last part of which should see the light of day in 2028.

Questioned by the French site Filmactu, Jon Landau had revealed some clues about what awaits the fans: “What we are building with Avatar is a metaphor for the world in which we live. We could travel all our life on Earth without discovering all the wonders it holds. Through the Avatar sequels, we will discover the incredible variety of environments that a planet hides. But above all we will discover other Na’vi clans. Pandora is as rich as our planet can be.
