(CercleFinance.com) – Avenir Telecom announced on Tuesday evening that it had returned to profit in the first half of its 2022/2023 financial year, a first in 11 years which earned it a take-off on the Paris Stock Exchange on Wednesday morning.
The distributor of mobile phones and mobility accessories reported a net profit from continuing operations of 0.5 million euros over the period from April 1 to September 30, 2022, compared with a net loss of 1 .6 million euros in the first half of 2021-2022.
Even after taking into account the result of its discontinued operations, the Marseille group still posted a profit of 0.9 million euros, against a loss of 1.6 million euros at September 30, 2021.
For the record, the company has decided to stop selling laptops and tablets to refocus on its core business, the sale of mobiles and accessories, a position that is up 10% to 11 .8 million euros over the half-year.
Backed by an activity refocused on a scope of profitable growth and free cash of more than 25 million euros, Avenir Telecom says it is continuing its analysis of investment opportunities, hoping to finalize an operation before the end of the financial year. .
Following this publication, its action rose by more than 50% on Wednesday morning on the Paris Stock Exchange, signing the largest increase in the Paris market at the start of the session.
