The former partner of the legendary DJ Avicii has died of a pulmonary embolism. Emily Grace Goldberg was only 34 years old.
The tragic fate of the Swedish DJ Avicii (1989-2018) still resonates today. The successful musician committed suicide in Oman around six years ago at the age of just 28. Tim Bergling, his real name, previously battled a number of health problems as well as alcohol and drug addiction for a long time.
It has now been announced that his former partner Emily Grace Goldberg also died on April 3rd at the age of just 34. On the Dignity Memorial page A corresponding obituary notice was published. Accordingly, Goldberg died of a pulmonary embolism in the US state of California.
Avicii and Goldberg were a couple for around two years
Goldberg and Bergling were a couple for around two years. The young American also accompanied him on his world tour from 2012. According to media reports, the two had known each other since 2011 and are said to have separated again in 2013. On her Instagram account Goldberg announced in May 2023 that she had been battling cancer for a year but was now considered cancer-free.
Born in Stockholm, Avicii made his commercial breakthrough in 2010 and was considered one of the most successful DJs and music producers of his time until his death in 2018. In total he won three Grammys. Almost 100 million records of his music have been sold worldwide. His most successful single is “Wake Me Up”, which sold more than 21 million copies.
After the relationship with Goldberg ended, Avicii was initially in a relationship with the Canadian model Racquel Natasha Bettencourt. From 2017 until his death, the Swede was in a permanent relationship with the Czech influencer Tereza Kacerová. Kacerová has a son from a previous relationship and revealed that Bergling had taken on the role of stepfather.
