In July 2020, Obsidian Entertainment formalized the development of its title Avowed. Almost three years later, the RPG returns to the Xbox Games Showcase to finally show off its gameplay and give a release window.
The first-person role-playing game takes place in the Living Lands of the world of Eora, a wild and mysterious island filled with dangers. As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate rumors of a spreading plague. The future of the island is therefore in your hands. But when you get there, you discover a personal connection to the lands themselves as well as a very old secret that could destroy everything. You will then have to save the island but also your soul from the forces that threaten them.
Each part of the Living Lands is home to its own ecosystem. Thus, players can explore bustling port cities or hills adorned with strange vegetation. But be careful because some tribes encountered, such as the Xaurips, will try to make you their next meal. To fight them, you will have at your disposal swords, pistols, shields but also magic spells. It will also be possible to handle two weapons at the same time, just to vary the pleasures.
Avowed is set for 2024 and will be available on PC as well as Xbox. It will also be available from day one on the Game Pass.
