In the first two seasons of “Bachelor in Paradise” candidates could already be successfully paired – how long did the luck last?
The wait is finally over. After a two-year break from “Bachelor in Paradise”, the dome format starts its third season. October 17th on TVNow or on October 24th at 10:25 pm on RTL, the love island will open its gates again. “Bachelor in Paradise” gives singles who have previously participated in “Die Bachelorette” or “Der Bachelor” a second chance. Is the right person to be found among those previously spurned? In the first two seasons, candidates were successfully paired with one another. How long did their love affair last after the show?
Philipp Stehler and Pamela “Pam” Gil Mata
Philipp Stehler (33) and Pamela Gil Mata (31) were not only seen as a true dream couple. In the first season of “Bachelor in Paradise” there was a noticeable crackle between the policeman who was courting for “Bachelorette” Alisa Persch in 2015 and the student at the time. However, Stehler was also not averse to candidate Carina Spack (25). In the final, however, he decided on Mata. They left the show as a couple. Just three months after the finale was broadcast, the police officer announced the end of the relationship on Instagram. Stehler has been with the model Vanessa Ciomber since the end of 2020.
Domenico de Cicco and Evelyn Burdecki
Evelyn Burdecki (33) had to pack the suitcase for the fifth “Bachelor”, Sebastian Pannek (35), after one episode. In the first season “Bachelor in Paradise” she was luckier: It sparked between her and Domenico de Cicco (38), who had participated in “The Bachelorette” in 2017. Although the love seekers became a couple, when they arrived back home, dark clouds quickly appeared over the love sky. Because Burdecki found out there that her chosen one had a girlfriend and was expecting a child. Luck broke – in 2019 the ex-couple met again in the jungle camp. While Burdecki has been singing through numerous TV formats since then, de Cicco entered into a relationship with his daughter’s mother. In January 2021, he announced the split.
Johannes Haller and Yeliz Koc
The two quickly noticed that Johannes Haller (33) and Yeliz Koc (27) got along brilliantly when they attended “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2018. However, there was only one friendship between them. It wasn’t until after the show that friendship turned into love. In the summer of 2019 they took part as a couple in the fourth season of “The Summer House of the Stars – Fight of the Celebrity Couples”. After a separation in late 2019, the two shared an on-off relationship for several months until happiness finally failed in May 2020. Haller is now married to the former “Bachelorette” Jessica Paszka Haller (31). Their first daughter was born in May 2021. Yeliz Koc also became a mother in October 2021. She is now separated from the father of her child, Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht (29).
Serkan Yavuz and Carina Spack
The second season of 2019 also brought together ex-candidates from the “Bachelor” universe. So also Carina Spack, who was looking for love in a “Bachelor” format for the third time, and Serkan Yavuz (28). Shortly before, he tried his luck with “Bachelorette” Gerda Lewis (28). After an initial love affair with Jade Übach (27), Yavuz found Spack. The couple made it to the show’s finals and were among its winners. After about a year, the influencers split. Übach then reported on Instagram that Serkan Yavuz had approached her several times during his relationship. Serkan Yavuz will take part in “Bachelor in Paradise” for the second time this year.
Natalie Stommel and Michael “Michi” Bauer
Candidate Amelie Sperlich (26) was visibly horrified when she met Michi Bauer (30) on the island of the second season “Bachelor in Paradise”. Because Sperlich was certain: The former “Bachelorette” candidate was taken at this point. Bauer vehemently denied the allegations. A little later, the sparks flew between him and Natalie Stommel (32). In the finale, he finally made her a love confession: “I can’t promise you what’s with us in real life. But I really fell in love with you in paradise.” But Sperlich was right with her allegations. Stommel and Bauer had no future back in Germany because Bauer’s girlfriend was waiting for him there. However, Bauer’s relationship with her also broke up after just under a year. Natalie Stommel has been assigned since February 2020.
Christina Grass and Marco Cerullo
On the Thai love island, there was also a crackling between Christina Grass (33) and Marco Cerullo (32) in 2019. In the same year, Grass vied for the roses from Andrej Mangold (34). Cerullo wanted to conquer the heart of Jessica Paszka in 2017. The two finally left “Bachelor in Paradise” as a couple. After participating in “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” In 2020, Cerullo Grass made a marriage proposal live in front of an audience of millions. At the end of the year, the couple surprisingly announced their separation, but found their way back together a few weeks later. Christina Grass and Marco Cerullo are so far the only couple from the show whose love lasts to this day.
