Back on the podium – Anna Gasser extends her Big Air series in Edmonton

Snowboarder Anna Gasser took third place at the Big Air World Cup in Edmonton on Saturday (local time). The double Olympic champion from Carinthia extended her impressive series. At her 18th World Cup start in this discipline, she made it onto the podium for the 18th time. The omens in Canada were unfavorable.

“It wasn’t an easy week for me, so I’m really happy about this third place. “I was a bit in poor health and then I also had a bad fall in training before the qualification, which really affected me,” said Gasser. “Megahappy” above third place. That’s why she was in the trick selection (Backside Double Cork 1080 , Cab Double Underflip 900) played it safe. “There was also some tactics involved, luckily it was enough for third place. I’m super happy to be on the podium again after a difficult week in Canada.” Last Saturday, Gasser won the Big Air World Cup in Beijing at her personal start to the season. The victory in Canada went to New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski Synnott (183.25 points) ahead of Great Britain’s Mia Brookes (167.00). Gasser got 159.25 points. In the men’s category, the Japanese Taiga Hasegawa (181.00) triumphed, while Clemens Millauer (46th) was eliminated from the qualification.
