The Backbone One controller is far from a novelty, and it has established itself in the small world of Android gaming, especially among those for whom touch controls are heresy. Indeed, you can plug your smartphone between the two branches of the pad and thus benefit from a portable console running Android or iOS, a little similar (in idea anyway) to what Logitech offers with the G-Cloud . The Backbone One met with some success and therefore had the joys of a collaboration with PlayStation, for example.

But it’s in a completely different area that Backbone is tapping into, since the manufacturer has just lifted the veil on its One Post Malone Limited Edition which, you guessed it, was designed hand in hand with the Syracuse native rapper (in New York State, not Sicily). This new iteration of the Backbone One is completely identical to the versions already on the market and the difference lies essentially – and even exclusively – in the design. It therefore sports a translucent green dress (Post Malone’s favorite color, we are told), an aluminum cross and aluminum buttons also engraved with the letters A, B, X and Y. Supreme refinement, the back of the Backbone One Post Malone Limited Edition features the rapper’s initials in a glow-in-the-dark hue.

As we have said, the Backbone One Post Malone Limited Edition is exactly the same as the “natural” Backbone One. We therefore find the low latency connection for responsiveness worthy of a wired controller, but also the USB-C connection which allows you to recharge your smartphone. On the connectivity side, the Backbone One Post Malone Limited Edition also benefits from a 3.5 jack socket to delight your ears with the musical production of PM or, more prosaically, to enjoy the music or sound effects of the game.

Did you know that Post Malone didn’t hesitate to pay $1,800,000 for two collector’s cards? It is therefore not surprising that the Backbone One Post Malone Limited Edition controller is only available in a few copies: 500 units, no more, no less, carefully packaged and numbered, but not signed by the artist’s hand. However, we doubt that they will one day reach the price of the Magic The Gathering cards acquired by our gamer rapper.

We do not yet know the price of the Backbone One Post Malone Limited Edition, but it will go on sale on June 25 at 6:00 p.m. French time.
